RARE Old Cotton Bishnoi Shekhawati Wedding Odhana Shawl

This shawl is rare on two counts - the cotton base and the pattern of tie-dye dots created through embroidery.

Handspun cotton, handwoven, hand dyed and hand embroidered.

In need of tender loving care - needs repairs - some tears and repairs present. Base cloth is faded from shielding the owner from the Rajasthan desert sun.

Superb example of the rare tie-dye design rendered in embroidery.

Rare usage of blue.

Age unknown but estimated to be from the 1960s-1970s
